Skin Needling (Before and After)

Dermal Needling also known as Skin needling, it is a minimally-invasive, non-surgical procedure for skin rejuvenation that involves the use of a special device to create a controlled depth wound healing response that strengthens and tightens the skin, resets cellular function, evens out pigmentation and stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin leaving a healthier skin with improved skin texture. Your skin is assessed as to the current health of your skin and we discuss to options of skin needling depth and the potential requirement for numbing creams to suit your needs. You may be required to prep your skin for several weeks prior to this treatment and you will be required to complete our Informed consent form to ensure you have no cautions or contraindications.

You will be laying down comfortably while we use a special hand held device that ‘stamps’ your skin in a predetermined pattern. This does not take long and any discomfort is minimised with various techniques including any numbing cream you have supplied. Depending on our choice of treatment depth there may be a small amount of surface bleeding.

Your skin will feel sunburnt immediately after with tightness, redness and occasionally small pin point dots where the devise pattern is replicated. On day 1 there may be some bruising and puffiness, again this will depend on the depth of treatment chosen for outcome with the average down time being 3 – 4 days for deeper treatments. As not all products are created with skin needling in mind not all are suitable to use at this stage, Chris will prescribe a simple routine of specific products to use during the healing time to ensure best results.

You will see a visible difference after each treatment as your collagen, elastin and your skin support networks are stimulated and the results can last up to 12 months. For maximum benefits we recommend 4-6 treatments 4 weeks apart.
