A Cosmetic Tattoo uses a hypo-allergenic, natural pigment which is microscopically implanted into the dermal layer of the skin with amazing results.  This process is used for cosmetic and corrective purposes which creates a long lasting effect that  accentuates and improves the definition of eyes, eyebrows and lips leaving eyes, brows or lips defined instantly with an improved appearance of perfectly applied make-up whether you require a dramatic or soft, natural look.  Also known as Micro pigmentation or Permanent Cosmetics although in Australia it is illegal to advertise that cosmetic tattoos are permanent as over time they will fade due to a number of factors.

  • Busy people / Athletes / Entertainers / Models
  • Physically & Visually Impaired
  • Allergy prone, sensitive to make-up
  • Those lacking confidence in makeup application
  • Those who want to save time & look good, even under the most active conditions
  • Those with Alopecia (hair loss)
  • Anyone whether young or old (To date the oldest client Chris has performed a treatment on was 84).

The sensation can vary from person-to-person but the result far outweighs any discomfort. A high quality topical anaesthetic can be applied  which  significantly reduces discomfort.  Should you wish to use and anaesthetic, by law you are required to bring your own  so we can discuss your options at least a week prior to your procedure.

The healing time is minimal for all treatments, hardly noticeable and a small percentage of people do have some swelling, but work and all other activities can continue immediately. It is only with Lip treatments that swelling can last for 24 hours and there may be some tenderness for a few days. The colour implanted will be darker than you would expect for the first 5-10 days. Most people do not need to take time off from their employment for eyebrow or eyeliner procedures–however, it may be advisable to take the day off if having your lips done.

The range of colours available is almost endless and is custom tailored to suit every individual’s needs. Results can be as understated or as dramatic as you prefer, creating a long lasting look to enhance your natural beauty. Chris has over 30 years of helping people choose their most flattering colours.

Even though this is a semi-permanent process, colour can be modified or changed. This can depend on many factors including the skin’s health and amount and depth of colour implanted. Originally It was known to last for many years but these days we strive for a more ‘natural’ look. Any cosmetic tattoo will  ‘fade’, or metabolise over time and may require maintenance or ‘Retouch’ visits in the future.

Even though you walk out with your beautiful Cosmetic Tattoo on the day, the final result will take 4–6 weeks until the final result is revealed once healing is completed. Cosmetic Tattoo can be a multiple treatment process depending on many factors and at this stage Chris likes to be review the tattoo to ensure we are both happy with the result.  Should a refinement session be required it will cost $60, within that time frame.

It is important to inform us: if you are on medication, suffer with keloid scarring or have any medical problems. Extended sun exposure, using Retin-A and Glycolic Acid will fade out colour from all treatments. Sun block is necessary at all times. Chris will discuss any issues with you.

Eyebrows:

Eyebrows frame the Face and give your face expression.  Everyone is meant to have eyebrows.  Whether you have over-plucked, have scars or gaps, can’t see to ‘design’ them or just wanting a more definite shape, colour is implanted to the designed shape that both you and Chris have discussed at great length, and in the desired technique/s from solid/powdered to feather hair strokes or a combination of all.

  • Over plucked eyebrows
  • Alopecia (hair loss)
  • Scars or gaps
  • Add defined shape
  • Physically & Visually Impaired
  • Just getting older eyebrows – 80% of women lose the outer end of their eyebrow after 60 years old.

Brow Styles

This is a general overview of different styles, however every eyebrow creation is tailor made to suit your personality, style, age, skin type and colouring.

Powder Brow uses a technique of implanting pigment to create a ‘filled in’ brow. The brows are given volume with no clear lines with the effect of brow tinting with shadows is created. Different technique to ombre which focuses on implanting pigment for better retention that looks similar to a powder creating a soft look for clients.

Who is this best for?
Suitable for those that want a more defined look and for most skin types including oily. Good for mature clients with the powder look having greater longevity and definition than hair strokes.

Powder Ombre Brows Creates a soft powder filled brow similar to the look of make-up. The tails of the brow are darker and gently fade into a light start at the beginning of the brow giving the eye catching Ombre make-up effect of soft and misty.

Who is this best for? If you have oily skin, or often fill your brows in with pencil or brow shadow powders, this look is one of filled in brows without the stress of filling them in each morning.

Feather touch Brows Using a digital machine and a technique that mimic brow hairs, less defined for a more natural look.

Who is this best for? Those that have gaps in their brows so they look fuller or can be used to create a full brow on younger skin. Similar effect to micro blading though tends to last longer than microblading and is  gentler on an older thin skin.

Microblading – Creates a very natural looking brow using a manual, hand held tool that implants the colour in a very fine, natural, hair stroke pattern.

Who is this best for? It is best for replacing individual hairs, so if you have thin patchy brows and need a little more shape micro blading may be your answer. It is the least permanent of all the techniques and not suitable for oily, or thin fragile skin.

Hybrid Brows The best of both worlds, using powder fill and micro-blading or feather stroke gives a very natural looking brow. Has a little more definition than straight hair strokes, but a little softer than the powder or ombre look.

Eye liner:

Colour can be implanted on top & / or lower eyelids to enhance, enlarge & define the eyes. Eyeliner can be wide, tapered, thin or used as a lash enhancement where it is just dotted between the lashes to add definition. Shading can also be used to give a softer ‘smokey’ line. Various colours can be used to compliment the eye.

  • Oily skin
  • Sparse eyelashes
  • Make up allergy
  • Pale eye colour & pink eyes
  • Contact lens wearers
  • Sports people
  • Physically & Visually Impaired
  • A want to have their eyes accentuated all the time.

Lips:

An outline is created and then the entire lip is implanted with colour – no need to wear lipstick – large number of colours to choose from. No need to re-apply lipstick every time you eat and drink. Plus lip gloss will give a lovely finishing touch.

Cosmetic Tattoo for the lips is great for those that want to:

  • Balance crooked lips
  • Define thin lips,
  • Create fuller lips
  • Uneven lip colour
  • Pale lips
  • A Make up allergy
  • Don’t want to apply lipstick all the time

IMPORTANT **If you have a history of cold sores, fever blisters or any type of sore on the lips you will have a recurrence after lip treatments. The virus always lies dormant in the skin and any trauma or stress will activate it. We recommend 2 weeks prior to any Lip procedure a course of L-Lysine tablets and  a course of anti cold sore treatment (such as Zovirax, Valtrex or Famvir) at least one week prior to any lip procedure. Avoid nuts, cocoa powder, chocolate, peanut butter, brown rice, oats and other grains as these encourage herpes. A course of LED light healing treatments post treatment is most beneficial in preventing and hastening the tissue repair and protecting your investment. Start conditioning lips with a moisturising cream to prevent dryness.

Cosmetic Tatoo Removal

Li-FT is a non-acid, high salt based, fruit seed extract removal product. It is safe to use for all types of cosmetic tattoo and body tattoos including emergency removals.

Salt/Saline removal works on the theory of Osmosis, where molecules of water travel from an area of less concentrated solution into an area of more concentration. The saline solution is put into the skin where the unwanted pigment sits, creating the process of Osmosis. Water in the cells below the pigment contain lower amounts of salt compared to the newly introduced salt in the LI-Ft pigment lightening solution, and the water will travel up to the surface of the skin carrying some of the pigment with it. A scab forms on the surface and when the scab lifts off it takes pigment with it.

The laser light is emitted and travels down through the skin until it is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo. This breaks up the pigments into tiny fragments which are absorbed by the body’s immune system. But laser is based on the wavelength—a particular wavelength travels a certain depth into the skin and is absorbed by a particular colour ink.

The ink of a tattoo settles at different depths in the skin, eg. Black settles the deepest, green and blues settle mid depth and the lighter shades are more shallow.  There is not one wavelength that targets all colours, so depending on the colours of your tattoo you may need to have several types of lasers to remove the tattoo.

When laser light hits some pigment colours that contain Titanium Dioxide they can turn grey or black.

Laser removal REALLY hurts.

Saline will help to lighten all colours.

Laser Tattoo removal can alter the skin where treated and if you wish to have further tattoos on the area they may be unsuccessful.

Laser pushes the pigment into the immune system, saline lifts the pigment out.

Lasers can permanently remove hair.

Lasers are great for larger tattoo’s with few colours.

Lasers or Intense Pulse Light (IPL) systems only work on darker hair types, Electrolysis works on all hair colours and types. It can treat grey, white, red, blonde and brown (dark/light) hair very effectively.

All these treatments are extremely effective in achieving long term permanent reduction and are similar in the way the growth centre of the hair follicle is targeted.

IPL or Laser are ideal for large areas of condensed dark hair, whilst electrolysis is ideal for lighter hair colours or scattered growth. With a thorough assessment we will advise on the most effective technology and treatment plan providing you with realistic expectations and honest advice about how together we can achieve long term results.

There are many variables that will affect the number of treatments that will be required, these include the type and amount of pigment used, how deep it was implanted, where about on the body, the type of skin and how it heals and how much pigment needs to be removed. All this and more will be discussed at your initial consultation. I look forward to helping you.

My credentials:

Testimonials:

“Hi, I am a mature aged woman that was way overdue for a lift in my life, and what better could I do but to have some cosmetic tattooing done.  Off I went to talk to Chris about the way I looked with very little of my eyebrow hair left, to be told that I could have the natural look of eyebrows, colouring and shape Chris could create in tattooing.  We then did the booking which takes about an hour or so to complete, we proceeded to have the job done.  I think this is where you think it is going to hurt and look terrible, but believe me, it is nothing like you think.  After Chris uses a deadening cream there is very little discomfort other than a tickle.  When done you look in the mirror and think it’s a bit bright, that’s normal as it has to have time to settle down to the true colour you chose, which is about 2 to 3 weeks, by that time you have gotten used to it.  That is when you are feeling very proud of yourself and how you look, it is a great feeling.  I have now added to this by having lower eyeliner.  If you would like to ask me anything feel free to ask Chris or the girls for my number.  Good luck……you won’t be sorry.”   Regards Ms H

“After having my eyebrows tattooed I would fully recommend any-one to go and have the done.  A very happy and satisfied Customer.” Brenda.

“I was very self conscious of my imperfect eyebrows (gaps and thinning), so I had Chris tattoo them.  She did a great job and I am very happy with the result.  My friends didn’t notice any change from the way I had been doing them with a pencil. I would highly recommend the procedure and Chris’s skill.  Chris has since then tattooed eyeliner on the top and bottom of my eyes.”  Julie

“I am over the moon, and thrilled about my eyebrows, and top and bottom eye liners.  Made my day.”  Sue

“Had my eyebrows tattooed at Your Beauty and I couldn’t be happier or more confident.  Thankyou so much.”  D.B.

Refinement appointment:

After four to six weeks which is the time it takes for the final result to be revealed, Chris likes to be able to review the tattoo.   Treatments are generally completed in the first visit but you may need to have a top up session to make any final adjustments.  This Refinement session will cost $60 for a touch up four –  six weeks  after the initial tattoo.

Lips can take two to three treatments to finalise but last well. Four to six weeks after the procedure is the time limit to have your tattoo perfected otherwise your treatment will be a Re-Touch which costs more than the Refinement. All the above treatments are guaranteed for one year, if you have been for a Refinement adjustment within the time limit.

IMPORTANT ** If you have a history of cold sores, fever blisters or any type of sore on the lips you will have a recurrence after lip treatments.
